Chapter seven in the Bedford Researcher is all about avoiding plagiarism. This chapter, after defining plagiarism, explains research ethics, common knowledge, and fair use. Not only does this chapter have instructions on avoiding plagiarism (including a quick reference list), but it also explains what to do if you are (wrongfully) accused of plagiarism. This chapter also included interesting explanations for why some writers plagiarize.
This chapter is vital for any research project. Plagiarism is a very serious offense and can have many negative consequences. It is important to be sure not to plagiarize and to identify the sources you use. Combining information on paraphrasing or summarizing from earlier chapters we read with the information from this chapter can ensure all work is not plagiarized and the author's own work.
This chapter was very useful because I now know how to spell plagiarism.
LOL about the spelling!
